The hop plant comes from Korsta village, Sköns parish near Sundsvall. On a parcel map from 1769, you can see where the hop cultivation was located. Just over 200 years later, the hops were still growing in the same place and were donated to a project with the Nordic Museum, the Program for Cultivated Diversity (POM) and the National Archives (GEORG database) to preserve green cultural heritage. This Hose Kit that makes it very easy to rinse kegs with water. Its also perfect if you want to fill a keg with water for making sparkling water. Fits ball lock cornelius kegs, and other kegs with ball lock disconnects. The threaded ball lock disconnects fits both gas and liquid (beer) ball lock posts. Here's how you can clean Cornelius kegs:1. Release the excess pressure in the keg and open the lid. Empty if there is any left.2. Connect the gardena coupling to a water tap and the ball-lock disconnect to the keg.3. Place the keg upside down in the sink and start the hot water. Leave to rinse for a few minutes.4. Set the barrel up and fill up with hot water and add e.g. PBW.5. Replace the lid and flush some detergent through both gas and liquid posts and the safety valve. Leave for about 15 minutes.6. Release the excess pressure and open the lid. Empty the cleaning agent (or transfer to the next keg if you are cleaning several at the same time).7. Connect the gardena coupling to a water tap and the disconnect to the keg.8. Place the keg upside down in the sink and start the hot water. Leave to rinse for a few minutes.9. Sanitize the keg with e.g. Star San just before filling the next batch. Tip: Buy a threaded PET adapter and you can also easily rinse your beer lines too.

BRU-1 is an experimental hop developed by John I. Haas and Brulotte Farms in the Yakima Valley. It is big and bold with a fruit-forward character that also offers clean bittering (13 - 15% AA). BRU-1 has a high Myrcene oil content that makes up over 50% of the total oil and contributes aromas of pineapple and stone fruit that is backed by a soft spice. Pale Ales and IPAs are the obvious styles, but might we are going to try brewing some funky Belgian styles. Riwaka smells strongly of passion fruit and citrus with elements of coniferous forest. Riwaka is the archetype for how New Zeeland Hop Character is defined.Unfortunately the Riwaka plants yields a very small harvest which combined with the high demand is the reason why we haven't been able to procure it for many years.Riwaka is excellent for when you want a distinct fruitiness, for example in an APA or IPA. It's also suitable for modern lager and saison.Riwaka, previously called D-Saaz, was developed by New Zeeland hop development program "Hops with a difference" in 1997 by crossbreeding Saaz with a couple of domestic hops. It quickly grew to be one of New Zeelands favorite hops, which is easy to understand once you've brewed with it. Ascorbic acid, also called Vitamin C, is used to prevent oxidation in drinks (approx. 0.2g/L) and preserve mash, jam or marmalade, take 0.5 - 1 krm per kilo of fruit (1 krm=1 spice measure = approx. 1 g) . To get an even distribution, it's good to stir it into a small part of the mash/jam/marmalade first and then stir it in with the rest.You can also mix ascorbic acid with water to drink to increase the intake of vitamin C.  In beer, use in mash and/or with dry hopping to svoid oxidation:- Mash: Add to mash in the beginning of mashing. - Dry Hopping Add along with hops during dry hopping (DO NOT STIRR or aggitate the beer, this would increase oxidation in the prescence of oxygen).Recommended dosage is 0.1g/L, i.e. 1g for 10L (1 spice measure) and 2g for 20L (2 spice measures) in both mash and dry hops. Chinook hops are a very distinctive dual-purpose hop used in Ales for both bittering and flavor/aroma. Chinook hops are commonly used in IPA's. Distinct, medium intensity spice and pine characteristics with subtle notes of grapefruit. Some consider the bittering quality of this hop is a bit rough because it lingers in your mouth after swallowing. However, some brewers can't get enough. Relatively new on the market, Huell Melon or Hüll Melon, made its debut in 2012. A daughter of Cascade (US), it has some interesting flavor characteristics not commonly associated with hops.
